Native New Mexico Artist Josh Bond started his career as an artist at 18, when he began working as a silversmith and stone inlay apprentice under Artist Andrew Shows. After several years making jewelry for Mr. Shows as well as creating pieces for friends, he met Master tinsmith Ted Arrellanes and was introduced to punched New Mexican tinwork. With his 5 years spent working with Mr. Arrellanes, Josh worked on projects for Las Fonda Santa Fe, The University of New Mexico, and Garduno's Restaurants in NM and NV, as well as assisting in classes taught through UNM.

In 1993, Josh Bond started working under gallery owner Maryrlyn Coriell, assisting her in the daily operation of Coriell Gallery located in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency downtown Albuquerque. By 1996 Josh had worked his way to gallery manager as well as opening an Artists Studio featuring 6 local artists in the 'Tower' building in downtown Albuquerque. There he started making his own style of contemporary punched New Mexican Tinwork. Mixing copper, brass, and tin with different patinas and achieving wonderful textures on the facades of his artwork.

In 1997, after deciding that Albuquerque was way too big and way too small, Josh Bond escaped south to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and opened XelaLuna Gallery. The gallery was a collaboration of 12 New Mexican artists located in downtown T ro C. While running the gallery, and creating his tin artworks, Bond met local artist H. Joe Waldrum and began a 2 year apprenticeship with Mr. Waldrum. Bond assisted him in his studio and traveled with him to his gallery meetings. The knowledge Bond gained with Mr. Waldrum was immeasureable and influenced his perspective on the artworld.

1999, Bond, after realizing you couldn't furnish a doublewide with contemporary fine art decided to close the Studio/ Gallery in downtown Truth or Consequences, NM. The town, although currently overflowing with galleries was far from ready when Bond made his pioneering efforts. About this time the manufacturing of the Tin that Bond used in all his pieces was made illegal to produce because of high lead content. It was replaced with a type of zinc plated tin that did not achieve the colors and textures Bond had grown to love and call his own.

Wondering what was next, Bond was offered a position managing a beach home on the Carribean in Tulum, Mexico. Deciding it was time for a hiatus, Bond escaped to the Carribean and ran a vacation home powered completely by solar energy. Although snorkling everyday at 4:00 and watching the sunrise over the Carribean every morning had it's definite appeal, Bond missed the desert and after 8 monthes, decided it was time to head back north.

Upon arrival back in the states, Bond purchased a 1957 Shasta Teardrop Travel Trailer and stuck it on the back of his 1970 Chevy flatbed and decided to head to Montana. Bond had never been to Montana, it had just always appealed to him. He made it as far as Sedona, Arizona, where his truck broke down. Bond was quick to fall in love with the beautidul high desert red rocks of Sedona. He took a position with a fine art digital printing company and was schooled in the way of Photoshop and taught himself HTML and website development. Sedona was beautiful but it lacked the simplicity Bond had found in Truth or Consequences, NM.

In 2001, Bond returned to Truth or Consequences to live on a ranch and return to his artwork again. This time Bond decided to move into steel sculpture and home furnishings. Branded witha Mig welder and a plasma cutter, Bond created his own unique style of artworks with his new medium.
