Inspired from the wild west hills of the upper chihuahuan desert, the cajas were created to tell the story of a New Mexico ghost town named Cuchillo. Each one-of-a-kind, hand painted caja is a playful creation reminiscent of the odd characters that roamed these dusty dirt roads. These familiar images of New Mexican Culture have been placed on a canvas of pressed tin ceiling tiles which were designed after the old saloon ceilings.
